How many treatments do I need?

For the most optimal results and tissue remodelling, two treatment sessions, spaced one month apart, is recommended, with 6-12 monthly maintenance sessions.

Profhilo, a Bio Remodelling injectable treatment, is now available at Women's Health Plus.

The first of its kind, Profhilo is a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, with a prolonged stimulating activity on dermal cells.

When injected into the skin, it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in increased elasticity and support which improves skin laxity and firmness.

One of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo boosts and hydrates the skin as well as remodels ageing and sagging tissues. This results in long lasting skin rejuvenation.

Where can I get it?

The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck. However, it can also be used to treat the following areas:

  • Décolletage

  • Hands

  • Arms

  • Knees

  • Abdominal area

Benefits of Profhilo

Profhilo provides a number of benefits including:

  • Skin firming

  • Skin tightening and lifting effect

  • Improving skin quality and hydration

  • Stimulating elastin, four types of collagen and hydration in the three main layers of the skin

  • Providing tissue repair ideal for acne scarring

Difference between Profhilo and Dermal Volumisers

There are a few key differences between Profhilo and dermal volumisers.

Profhilo has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid, and is more “runny”. This allows it to spread easily beneath the skin, to stimulate collagen and elastin and hydrate the skin.

Conversely, dermal volumisers are thicker gels, and tend to stay where it is placed. This allows for volumising, lifting, shaping and filling a specific area.

The areas in which they are used, in addition to the number of treatments required, also differ between the two.

Side effects

For all injectable treatments, there are possible side effects. The side effects associated with injectable treatment may include bleeding, pain or discomfort, tenderness at the treatment site, bruising and swelling, or feeling faint during the procedure.

Aftercare following treatment

You may experience redness and swelling immediately after the treatment. Bruising may occur in treated areas and can last up to 2 weeks. Arnica spray or cream can be used to treat bruising. Make up can also be applied the next day.

Avoid vigorous physical activity, alcohol consumption and spa / saunas as they can increase swelling and bruising. Avoid Aspirin, fish oil and some anti-inflammatory medication as these can also increase bruising.

Please contact us immediately if any of the following occur:
